Dancing with Dad

Pamla Manazer, Writing Ministry Volunteer

Eric isn’t the kind of guy you’d picture being at a Father-Daughter Dance. He’s a former marine and current mortgage banker. He never expected to be at the dance, either, but he’s a committed member of the Men’s Ministry. And, when they asked him to help with the event three years ago, he said yes.

The Father-Daughter Dance is an annual event hosted by Saddleback Church and the Men’s Ministry. It’s a special opportunity for dads to spend time with their daughters and enjoy food, music, dancing, and photo ops with our PICS Ministry.

Eric discovered that the Father-Daughter Dance was a way for him to make the most of the time he has with his two girls. “When I look back at the photographs from the dance, I remember the amazing moments I had with my girls.” He’s also grateful that the function showed him another side of his daughters’ personalities.

The event helped Eric see the talent both of his daughters have for dance. They enjoyed the evening so much, Eric and his wife Jennifer enrolled them in dance and piano classes.

Now, they also can’t wait for the next Father-Daughter Dance, which will take place on Wednesday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. on the Lake Forest campus.
