Rebuilding Hope in Haiti
09/10/2021In the recent devastation of a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti, many lost loved ones, childhood homes, and their livelihoods. Countless church families lost their place of meeting as their buildings were destroyed during the disaster. But amidst the rubble, they are not alone. The body of Christ has risen up to join hands with their brothers and sisters in Christ to help them rebuild.
Local churches in Haiti are joining hands with Saddleback Relief to step into the gap. Thanks to your generosity, Saddleback Relief is providing funds for building materials, labor, and transportation for the rebuilding of church buildings. Local Haitian congregations are deploying their members to build relationships and help with the rebuilding. Currently 5 local churches are beginning the work, with 7 more in process.
Like all our Saddleback Relief projects, this work will be done through, for, and by local churches so that the relationships that develop will endure and enrich the community long after the disaster has passed. We aim to provide ongoing support in training churches up to greater church health through The PEACE plan, so that they can be personally empowered to continue outreach work in their local area when they return to strength.
God, as the churches in Haiti steps into a season of rebuilding, would you strengthen them and give them wisdom and endurance for its completion. Give an abundance of hope so that these church members do not waver in the project ahead. Would you be close to the brokenhearted at this time as you’ve promised and show them how you redeem all that has been lost. Amen
