A wonderful resource exists in the Career Coaching and Counseling Ministry for those looking for a job or a job change. The Ministry, which meets Monday evenings, provides the incredible expertise of an expensive outplacement agency at no charge to any person who has lost their job, been laid off, or is changing careers. The courses are especially designed for anyone who desires to match their God-given talents and skills to a career using their unique abilities. The desire of the ministry is to match individuals to jobs they love and where they will be working each day exactly how God created and designed them plus receive a paycheck.
Classes are provided on God’s Will and Direction, Resume Writing, Marketing, Target Company Listing, Networking, Interviewing, Salary Negotiating, Accountability and Linked-in Networking. One-on-one coaching is also provided. The goal is for participants to find their ideal job or perfect work in 3 months.
The 60 volunteers who drive the ministry all have backgrounds in job placement and can teach the skills and techniques necessary to land a job. They also provide one-to-one counseling. On the first Monday of each month, the ministry sponsors a Career Mixer. During the past several months, the mixers have connected many job-seekers with job and employers with reliable employees. Additionally, a ministry prayer team will pray with and for participants as they complete their resume, interview and salary negotiations.
