peacegarden

The P.E.A.C.E. Garden is a ministry where people can serve IN the garden, give FROM the garden and show others HOW to do it.  Regardless of a person’s gardening experience or age, everyone has a place to serve.

All of the fresh produce raised is given to families in need through our food pantry.  Currently, Saddleback Church serves 1600 families a month through our food pantry.  Our garden is 1700 square feet, we’re using a “raised bed gardening method” where we have 37 4’X4’ boxes which a variety of vegetables and herbs will be grown.  By gardening this way, we can show people how to grow a garden in small spaces.

In conjunction with our P.E.A.C.E. plan both locally and globally, we’ll use this gardening method as a teaching tool on how to have a reproducible and sustainable garden.  We will have different types of soil representing indigenous regions around the world!   Our garden will be a "Green" project and organic, which is important as we model caring for our environment and encourage our community to as well.

Want to get involved with the Peace Garden?  We'll be planting all kinds of goodies!  E-mail
NicoleK@saddleback.com to find out how to get involved in this awesome new ministry project!!

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands;  Yes, confirm the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17
