Your group probably meets once a week for maybe a couple of hours. But what do you do to stay connected with each other between meetings?
Here are a few ways groups are connecting:
Email. The granddaddy of them all. Sending emails to everyone helps keep everyone informed of what’s going on with members, and also helps make people feel connected. Many groups use the email function on their small group website. Don’t know about your website? Click here - https://www.saddlebackfamily.com/home/mysaddleback - to check it out.
Small group website – speaking about your small group website, have you uploaded any pictures to share with the group lately? Click on the “Photos” button at the top of the page, upload some photos of recent group activities, and then email everyone that they’re there.
Tokbox – www.tokbox.com. Agree to go online at the same time on a particular day or night. Tokbox uses your webcam and built-in microphone to let everyone talk and see each other at once. Another way to do the same thing is www.tinychat.com.
Facebook – don’t have a Facebook page for your small group? Well, you really don’t need one since you have a Saddleback small group website, but some people just can’t break old habits, so it’s another way they stay in touch.
Social stuff – yeah, that’s right. Face-time. Doing life together. BBQs, taking all the kids to the park or beach, watching fireworks together (Wow, Mission Viejo threw on a great fireworks show last night!). Even camping. Some groups do vacations together.
Church service – some small groups go to the same service and sit together. Others even serve together, like serving communion together at Night of Worship. Now, that’s a great idea.
You get the idea. Stay in touch. Meetings are once a week, but doing life together is, well, doing LIFE together. Life is a bit more frequent than a meeting.
If you’re not doing anything as a group between meetings, plan to get in touch this next week. Maybe start with just email.
If you’re doing something already, COMMENT to this posting and share it with others.
