English especially (American Accent )English is a key language of business, and a vital tool that benefits children and adults as they attend school, rise from poverty, and access the Word of God. Saddleback’s English as a Foreign Language initiative is equipping and training the local churches of other countries to become life changing centers of learning.
Our English outreaches abroad use a 12 lesson curriculum called “Window to the World” and are equipped with starter kits which include a low vocabulary Bible, dictionary, and even a white board and markers to enable anyone to teach English to others.
Getting involved can begin right here on our campus at the PEACE center. We have a 4 hour interactive training workshop which prepares the attendees to teach English in our Tuesday and Thursday ESL classes. Helping out at these classes is a good first step to becoming involved globally. Teaching English creates bonds between people of different cultures, its rewarding, and its life changing for not only the students, but also for the instructor. Teaching credentials are preferred for teachers.
The PEACE Center is a place of compassion where our county’s residents can come when they need a helping hand. Our vision is to be Jesus’ hands and feet to our community by caring for our neighbors. We work to address immediate needs through services like the Food Pantry, financial education, career counseling, legal information, MSI (Medical Services Initiative) application processing, support groups, orphan care, adoption support, and more. The PEACE Center is run by qualified and trained staff and volunteers whose commitment is to help change lives and build community.
