The Power of Prayer in Rwanda
03/12/2016 .In early March, several of our staff and members traveled to Rwanda for the All-Africa Pastors’ Gathering. To achieve our "H" goal of Daring Faith, to help reach the last 3,000 tribes on earth, we are continuing to work with church leaders from around the world.
The team arrived with great expectations of what God could do if leaders from around the world saw the astounding transformation occurring across Rwanda.
Spearheading the conference was David Chrzan, Saddleback Chief of Staff who called on the staff to pray specifically for three requests:
-
That God would continue to pour out his blessing on the Rwandan churches as they move forward leading in faith.
-
That God would launch the PEACE Plan in 20 countries before the end of this year.
-
That 1,000 leaders would hear about, pray for, and engage in this historic initiative.
The Saddleback team was beyond amazed at what God did during their time in Rwanda. As Ephesians 3:20b (CEV) states, he did “More than we asked or imagined!” Over 150 church leaders from 29 different countries spent three days determining their next steps to catalyzing a nationwide movement of healthy churches. They are on their way to transforming lives in their communities and planting churches where none exist.
The power of prayer led to:
-
20 countries taking another step closer to launching the Global PEACE Plan in the next year! Six countries have set launch dates within the next six months, and 14 more are coming soon.
-
Affirming Rwandan leadership to move forward in faith as a blessing to the nations. They were outstanding hosts, exceptional leaders, and an inspiration to everyone!
-
A path for the next wave of leaders and churches to engage in the Global PEACE Plan. Thousands heard through social media and are beginning to inquire!
-
The expansion of the Global PEACE leadership team in Rwanda, Mexico, India, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
-
Enhancing Malawi’s progress. They have initiated three national training sites across the country since launching in November 2015.
-
A challenge for visiting church leaders to implement PEACE in their churches. Many envisioned themselves as Global PEACE churches and desire more training.
Our Global PEACE Team has already started planning for the next All-Africa Pastors’ Gathering in October 2016. They will bring in the next group of leaders from across Africa and international partner churches from around the world willing to engage in the Global PEACE Plan. Between now and then, we will be equipping these country leaders to be evangelists to other leaders throughout their countries. Please pray for the fruit of their efforts during this final frontier project of our Global PEACE Plan.
Since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:15 (NLT)
