Relaunch of Purpose Driven Church
06/06/2016 .For the first time in a decade, Pastor Rick invited pastors and church leaders from around the globe to learn new material, new tools, and new hope for the church during the historic re-launch of the Purpose Driven Church Conference (PDC16) from June 28–30, 2016. Pastor Rick built on proven principles that have helped thousands of churches rebuild, reform, and renew––personally, relationally, missionally, structurally, and culturally.
The conference featured teachings from Pastor Rick and music by the Saddleback Worship Team. Dozens of workshops were led by other Saddleback pastors including David Chrzan, Shawn Hyde, Mike Constantz, Anthony Miller, and John Cassetto. These breakout labs covered subjects including empowering people to serve, trends in small groups, biblical marketing, mapping maturity, planting Purpose Driven Churches, and building an effective children's ministry.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with church leaders and learn key principles including: establishing a foundation for growth, defining your church’s purpose, reaching your community, and building a congregation. The three days encouraged spirits, sharpened skills, and stretched minds through a renewed vision to serve God in ministry. Over 2,000 guests attended the event, coming from all 50 states and over 33 countries. These figures do not account for Saddleback staff, online viewers, and the 50 church-planting pastors who attended the conference.
“I’m very excited that we’re doing the first Purpose Driven Church conference that I’ve taught in America in 10 years,” says Pastor Rick. “We’re bringing it back here to Saddleback in California. Year after year, we taught a leadership training seminar, called PDC, which over 400,000 pastors from around the world have taken part in. Churches planned their vacations around it, and would bring 40, 50, 60 people with them and come spend three and four days with us. We did it year after year. But when we were launching the PEACE Plan, and I was oversees all the time, we stopped doing the PDC training here in America for almost a decade. So I’m very excited to re-launch PDC again and teach everybody what I’ve learned since I wrote the Purpose Driven Church book. You need to hear this incredible conference. I’m going to be teaching all day for three days. I hope you can come be a part of that.”
