New Interconnect Room
01/23/2017 .Big things are happening to interconnect our growing fellowship through new technologies! We are almost done building our first Interconnect Room that will train our growing fellowship using video conferencing and two-way interactive broadcasts with other campuses.
Located in MO2, the multi-purpose space is currently being upgraded with a production stage, LED video monitors, an audio system, and new media-driven technology for video shoots. Since many training events will be streamed in front of a live audience, a theater has been added with enough seating for 65 people. Other new facility features include a control booth, robotic HD cameras, and computers for graphics and video playback.
According to Frank Baker, Pastor of Global Broadcast, “We have interconnected this room via fiber with the Refinery, Worship Center, MO1, and the newly acquired Saddleback Central. It is what we hope will be the first of many classrooms that will be interconnected.”
Slated to open in the coming weeks, the facility will be our first interconnect training room where we will pilot two-way technology for our future broadcast training facility. Not only does this help meet our “I” goal, but it also helps us work toward our “T” goal of training our members to be global leaders. Since we launched Daring Faith in 2015, the Interconnect Room will be one of the greatest strides we’ve made toward reaching this initiative.
In other tech news, last month our Christmas services and events chipped away at two of our Daring Faith goals: Fill God’s house and interconnect our growing fellowship through new technologies.
Over 52,000 people attended our Christmas services, and another 26,000 viewed the Christmas services online. Of those online viewers, 37% were local, 45% were nationwide, and 18% were international—meaning the message of God's love is spreading far and wide. Of all our stats, the most exciting are the 1,020 new believers who accepted Christ because of Saddleback's Christmas message!
We also had 44,668 people visit saddleback.com for Christmas updates, service times, and the advent calendar. Nearly 15,000 people viewed the advent page alone, and another 600 either downloaded or shared Saddleback’s daily Christmas devotional.
Remarkably, one of highest location shares from our regional campuses was Saddleback San Diego that launched in October. Not only did new people view San Diego’s webpage, but they also shared Christmas details and promoted events on social media. Stretching beyond technology, other outreach tools to fill God’s house included Christmas boxes, a tree lighting ceremony, our Christmas pageant, and the Snow Zone that drew 4,500 people.
From sharing God’s love through Facebook, to two-way streaming of live events, our church family is committed to helping build God’s kingdom through new technologies.
