New Facilities + Campus Firsts
01/26/2017 .The “F” goal of our Daring Faith campaign is to fill God’s house with 40,000 worshipers at our weekend services by the year 2020. A key component to meeting this goal is expanding our reach to new communities as we strive to advance God’s kingdom. This often means being fast, fluid, and flexible to change, even if that requires relocating campuses, upgrading facilities, or expanding locations.
Illustrating this are several of our campuses that recently moved locations, launched more services, and opened doors to new midweek ministry space. Plus, we have new campuses launching in the coming months! Read below for some for some of the exciting ways we’re filling God’s house.
SADDLEBACK BERLIN: LAUNCHES SECOND SERVICE
Major growth is happening at our international campuses, including Saddleback Berlin that recently launched a second service. Having gained momentum within the community, this second Sunday service has resulted in attendance going from 180 to 255 people in January.
SADDLEBACK HONG KONG: GRAND OPENING OF NEW BUILDING
As a Daring Faith initiative, Saddleback Hong Kong recently moved into their new worship center at The Sparkle high-rise in the densely populated area of West Kowloon. The central location has the potential to reach tens of thousands of people within walking distance of the facility.
According to Ron Keck, Pastor of International and Regional Campuses, “It’s a great location that’s positioned for growth. We’re already gearing up for Easter to reach thousands of people in the community.”
Daring Faith gifts helped Saddleback Hong Kong facilitate renovations of the entire floor of the new high-rise building, including an auditorium with enough seating for 600-700 people. Part of the refurbishment included new space for Saddleback Kids, and plans to host Purpose Driven and PEACE events in 2017. Ultimately, the building will also serve as a training center for pastors from Mainland China.
The recent Grand Opening attracted 862 people and has already led to an increase in weekly attendance. Since the campus launched in October 2013, Saddleback Hong Kong has baptized 190 people, including eight believers who were baptized at the Grand Opening.
SADDLEBACK ALISO VIEJO: GRAND OPENING OF NEW MIDWEEK MINISTRY OFFICE SPACE
On January 8, Saddleback Aliso Viejo unveiled their new midweek ministry office space during an all-campus housewarming party. Members were invited to view the Laguna Hills workspace during CLASS 101 and 201. Thirty people attended the training on membership and maturity, and had an opportunity to utilize the new facilities for practical ministry.
According to Aliso Viejo’s Administrative Director, Summer Harris, “This permanent weekly space for ministry will help us build our campus and fill God’s house. Not only are we hosting CLASS, but we are also scheduling other ministries to use the space for their ministry needs.”
SADDLEBACK IRVINE NORTH: KID AND FAMILY OUTREACH
On January 8, Saddleback Irvine North hosted their first Jana Alayra event to engage children in worship and get them excited about Jesus. Over 550 moms, dads, and kids attended this Season of Hope concert, helping fill God’s house as an outreach to the greater Irvine/Tustin community.
According to Irvine North Pastor DJ Crawford, “Through this event, we can live out our Saddleback value of being a ‘kid-and-family focused’ church.”
2017 LAUNCH OF SADDLEBACK CAMPUSES: GREAT PARK, ESPANOL CAMPUS, BREA-FULLERTON-YORBA LINDA
Saddleback Great Park: Our Great Park campus—opening in the new theater of Portola High School—is tentatively scheduled to launch around Easter. This new Saddleback campus is ideally situated to serve the 20,000+ homes being built in the Irvine Great Park area. Read more about the new campus HERE.
Saddleback Español: In late spring, our Español Campus will start reaching the next generation of thousands of Latinos around Orange County. On board to lead this new congregation is Pastor Fernando Lammoglia, who recently shared his vision for the new campus.
Global Worship Pastor, John Cassetto has been building a strong Spanish worship team, and our campus launch staff is finalizing steps to install a bilingual SK director. The new Español campus will be utilzing the Lake Forest campus on Sunday afternoons, complete with worship, fellowship, food, and family activities.
According to Kyung Lee, Campus Launch Pastor, “We’re putting together a great team for Saddleback Español, including an associate pastor, worship team, and children’s and administrative director.”
Saddleback Brea-Fullerton-Yorba Linda: Our Campus Launch Team has been in full-location search mode, reviewing dozens of potential facilities for this Saddleback campus targeted to launch in fall 2017. “Please be in prayer that facilities will open up,” says Pastor Ron, “and that God will lead us to the right place.”
From launching campuses to baptizing believers, the scale of these big-step accomplishments is greater than we ever imagined. Tens of thousands of lives have been changed by God through his church. We cannot wait to see even more lives impacted as Saddleback continues to reach out in love and Daring Faith. To become part of the mission to fill God’s house, click HERE to give to Daring Faith!
