New Facility for Corona
08/30/2017 .For the past two years, Saddleback Church has been on a Daring Faith journey, with many members responding in powerful and significant ways. It has been incredible to see what God has done through the faithfulness and selflessness of our church family. This often means being fast, fluid, and flexible to change, even if that requires leaving a place of comfort and relocating part of our church family.
Illustrating this act of obedience is Saddleback Corona that will be changing locations and opening doors to a new facility. Their efforts to find a new location has been a top priority since Corona Pastor, Rob Fultz first stepped into the leadership role.
“We prayed so much, drove hundreds of miles, toured more than 40 properties, and believed wholeheartedly that when God created the wave, we would simply ride it,” says Pastor Rob. “That time finally arrived for us to see the wave and paddle as hard as we could. In other words, we found our new church home!”
Located just minutes south of the Eastvale line, the new building is located at 3240 Hamner Avenue in the same complex as the Norco Public Library. By late fall, the Corona campus will move from the current location at Santiago High School to the Norco facility. In addition to a main worship center, the new building will offer the capability for mid-week ministry, community outreach, PEACE programs, and family ministries for the first time. It will also provide an ideal space for seminars and other adult education programs.
Before the building is fully ready, it will need to undergo 3-4 months of construction to accommodate various ministries and the growing campus. Fortunately, Saddleback Corona has been given permission to occupy the building before renovation is complete.
As Pastor Rob explains, “With the new space, we will take an approach of ‘move-in-and-grow’. This means that how it will look on day 1 is not the same way it will look 2 months, 6 months, or 1 year down the line. Not only will we get a new building, but we get to speak into what it becomes.”
The opportunity for volunteers is wide open, and only through prayer, support, and serving can it all come together. In the coming weeks, a schedule will be available for volunteers to help with a multitude of projects and needs. The undertaking will require enormous volunteer efforts and will provide a unique opportunity for the whole church family to participate. Ever since Pastor Rob announced the big move on June 16,members and volunteers have been excited and eager to start this new journey.
“These will be some of the most exciting days our church has ever experienced,” says Pastor Rob. “We will get to invest in and build-out our new home. By opening the opportunity for more services, we can reach more people in the Corona Valley, expand our community circle, and bring more people into the Purpose Driven model.”
In the meantime, the campus is praying that they will have favor with city officials, construction planning, contractors, and neighbors. They are hopeful this new harvest field will be ripe with families and communities who are hurting, lost, and in need of hope.
“Please pray for the future ministries, leaders, volunteers, and opportunities we will gain and need in our new home,” asks Rob. “And also pray that leadership will wisely and confidently move through this process.”
Not only is this a chance to expand their reach throughout the community, but it also gives our Corona members an opportunity to invite new people and reach one more for Christ. Stay tuned for the official Grand Opening and unveiling of the campus this coming winter.
