Suzanne Morissette Cruz

Drums Instructor

Suzanne Morissette, a drummer/percussionist from Quebec, Canada, received her Masters degree from the Conservatory of Music in Quebec and also graduated with honors at the

famous Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) in Hollywood, CA. She has freelanced for the Quebec Symphony. Her show experience includes: The Bells of Santa Inez, conducted by Marty Paich, The Ice Capades, and a US tour with Gaelforce Dance (an Irish Dance Production) and The LA Circus. She performed and toured with fellow Canadian guitar player Brian Hughes and toured Japan with the Belle Air Brass and performed at the 2nd Annual Woman's Jazz Festival in Tokyo, and also played at the Montreal Drum Fest in Canada. With a power trio called Big Planet she won the Acoustic Group of the Year presented by the National Academy of Songwriters (NAS). Suzanne has also appeared on radio and television shows including: KLON with Chuck Niles, KTWV jazz brunch, KTLA Channel 5 Morning News, KCOP Channel 13, the Los Angels Marathon, KCAL Channel 9, Live in LA, CBS This Morning, CBS Radio, Quebec Canada, Radio Canada, Live Interview. Suzanne was on the cover of Drums Etc. magazine and in Modern Drummer, Los Angeles Times, Le Musicien Quebecois (Canada), Batteur magazine (Europe), the LA Jazz Scene, and BAM magazine.

For the last fifteen years she has been a member of The Jennifer York Quartet, with whom she currently records and performs around Southern California. The Quartet also performed at the Rochester Jazz Festival, Long Beach Jazz Festival, Catalina Jazz Trax, Lake Arrowhead and Lake Tahoe Jazz Festivals. Others performances include The Drifters, Nancy Sinatra, a project for Steven Dorff, famed country music producer, and the Humphrey Bogart Stamp Unveiling Ceremony at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. She also performed in Berne, Switzerland at the Innere Enge Resort.

Suzanne recently recorded a CD for Los Angeles jazz singer/Grammy Award winner Chris Bennett, and recorded for Mark Stephens, featuring Michael Brecker, Artist Alissa at Capitol Records, at Conway studios for Polygram, The Mad Hatter Studios with the York Quartet, and also with Jon Anderson on his solo album. She is also one of the regular drummers playing here at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA. Suzanne has been performing with the Mary Rice Hopkins's Children Ministry for several years, and appears every Saturday morning on the TBN Christian Channel. She has been the steady drummer for the World Famous Circus Flora, based in St. Louis.

Her broad-based knowledge of music with in-depth understanding of the role of percussion has made her a much sought after instructor. Suzanne has taught students for the last 10 years, and has held clinics and workshops in the US and Canada.

Bob Champagne

Guitar Instructor

Bob studied music composition under Phil Wilson and Ed Tomassi at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, majoring in film scoring with an emphasis on guitar

performance. He also graduated with a BA in church music from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with an instrumental emphasis.

While growing up, Bob played in a number of jazz and rock bands on the east coast ranging from big bands to 5 piece club bands. As a result of his experience as an arranger and orchestral composer, he's earned a reputation of having strong reading skills as a guitarist which has opened some opportunities to do recording session work as well as play in the pit orchestra of various Broadway musical productions such as: Guys and Dolls, Music Man, the Sound of Music, and Pippin to name a few. He is also the session guitarist on Janine Alondres' jazz album: Dreams do Come True which won "best adult contemporary album of the year" in the 2004 Hawaii music awards.

Bob also served on staff as "minister of music" in several churches in Southern California over the past 20 years. Currently, he is a composer member of ASCAP, and is highly involved in music ministry by playing in various groups at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA.

Mark Madison

Guitar Instructor

Mark Madison is a Acoustic Guitarist, Singer/Songwriter he started playing guitar at the age of 5 and was in his first professional group at the age of 15.

Mark eventually started playing solo acoustic and also with his backing group evolved his sound into a mixture of Folk, Rock and the Blues. Two of Mark's songs, Skinny Marie and The Simple Life, have charted at 1 on 16 charts worldwide. Mark is an experienced instructor having taught guitar through out Orange County for over 20 years.

Logan Altman

Guitar Instructor

Logan has been playing guitar since the age of 8 and began with Saddleback School of Music years ago when it was known as the POP Institute. Learning from great

instructors such as Jadon Lavik and Gannin Arnold, he now teaches at the same school he began at. He is a guitarist for Saddleback Church's Worship Center, playing along side Rick Muchow, Drew Hester (Foo Fighters), Gannin Arnold (Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders), Greg Vail, Blake Aaron (KSBR), and many more. He also is a worship leader for the high school worship teams, working and helping teens strengthen their skills and grow closer to the Lord.

Gordon Rustvold

Gordon has played professionally for over 37 years, with over 2000 recording sessions to his credit. Those include B.B. King,Steve Perry (Journey), Mary Wells,

Brian Duncan, Pat Boone, Sligo Rags (Celtic music), Ric Flauding, Ernie Watts, Justo Almario, as well as big bands with Don Menza, Bill Watrous, and Tom Kubis. Gordon's expertise includes music of Rock, Jazz (combo & big bands), Latin, Country, Celtic, Folk and Bluegrass.

Tiiu Marie Jankowski

Piano Instructor

Tiiu is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatory of Music in Sydney, Australia. She has toured throughout Australia, the United States, and Canada in music ministry,

appearing on national TV, and performing and recording in Nashville and Los Angeles. As a member of the Music Teacher's Association of California (MTAC), she offers participation in the Certificate of Merit study program for her classical piano students.

Pete Jacobs

Keyboard

Pete Jacobs has been in Christian music since the early "Jesus Music Movement" of the early seventies. Pete was a founding member of the group "Children Of The Day"

and toured internationally for 8 years, including being featured at Explo '72 at the Cotton Bowl with Billy Graham, and numerous other appearances on Christian Television.

Pete is also an accomplished jazz-musician and is the founder-director of the Wartime Radio Revue Swing Orchestra - a 1940's era Big Band, which plays several times each month.

Pete, along with his wife, Hanneke, also created the Christian Children's Series, "Colby The Computer", writing 8 children's musicals as well as a 40-episode TV show which still airs to this day.

Rebekah Jones

Voice Instructor

Rebekah has been teaching voice for over 8 years. She received a performance scholarship, and graduated with a B.A. in Music from Briercrest Bible College Canada,

majoring in Voice. Upon graduation, she was hired there as adjunct faculty to teach private voice and since moving to California has continued to instruct students in voice. Rebekah began singing at a young age and was a featured vocalist through out high school and college. She has performed with award winning choirs and ensembles touring throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. Rebekah has recorded on several CD's, including background vocals for Saddleback's Worship Conference Songseeker Project.

Lori Kibbe

Lori has been teaching for 10 years and is currently a Certified Speech Level Singing Instructor under Seth Riggs. World renowned singing coach for Stevie Wonder

Jackson, Natalie Cole and over 100 grammy winning artists.

Lori toured worldwide as a former Citrus Singer trained under Ben Bollinger of the Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre. As a music performance major she performed in such shows as 42nd Street, Brigadoon, Evita and A Chorus Line before pursuing her love for teaching.

Lori is a dynamic teacher and is dedicated to inspire her students to reach for musical excellence. In developing their musical skills, broadening their knowledge and strengthening their commitment; her passion is to see each of her students use their unique gifts in their preferred style of singing.

Although experienced in theatre, live bands and in the recording studio environments, her heart and passion will continue to be for churches and serving the Lord through song.
