What To Expect
Kids Small Groups is the small group discipleship program for the children of Saddleback Church. The curriculum is called, “The Journey” as we believe that spiritual discipleship is a life-long journey! There are two primary divisions: Pre-K to Grade 2 and Grades 3 to 6.
The curriculum for the Pre-K to Grade 2 students focuses on introducing students to a relationship with God and what it means to be a part of the church. The students learn about character traits as the Bible comes to life in their small group. They will build lasting relationships with their peers and leaders as they meet each week. Ultimately, their eyes will be opened to the amazing, limitless love that God has to offer them.
The curriculum for the Grades 3 to 6 students is based on an intentional process of discipleships as they embark on a children's version of CLASS. All students, regardless of age or grade, will begin in Children's 101 as they recognize and reflect upon their relationship with Jesus. Children's 201 challenges students to dig deeper in their faith through spiritual disciplines. Next, students will assess their own SHAPE and how God can use them to serve in ministry in Children's 301. Finally, the curriculum will come full circle in Children's 401 as the students are challenged to share Jesus through their testimonies, mission fair and mission trips.
