Highly Favored

I recently had a chance to speak with a young man that had some major life changing events coming up, finishing school, starting a career, getting married, starting a family. you get the picture, he was moving from young, handsome and free, into the real world. Now don't get me wrong I happen to believe that you can. and should be all of the above, at the same time. I'm married, to an awesome lady, I have a family.three lovely daughters, I finished school and have multiple careers going at the same time and yet I see myself as young, handsome and free. young and handsome both being relative. but here was my concern in talking with this young man. He has all these events coming up and he is very concerned about them, but this is his plan, "I'm going to wait on GOD and see what happens", and this is why he feels this way. . . .

Ready. someone told him that he was "blessed and highly favored!" WHAT?????

	That term is used in reference to Mary, JESUS' mother, in Luke's gospel when the angel appeared to her and said;

And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" Luke 1:28

But here is the problem while Mary was "blessed and highly favored" she, like everyone else who went on to be part of GOD's amazing and miraculous plan wasn't just "sitting around waiting to see what GOD was going to do!!! They had to do something. see, all great acts of faith begin with someone "making a move". That is doing something out of our comfort zone, doing something that seems crazy at the time but having faith that GOD will do what HE says HE will do. What was Mary's leap of faith A "fourteen year old virgin" who was about to be married and was suddenly "with child"! Incidentally, the punishment for that was to be stoned to death! Yet she accepted that challenge and well. the rest is HIStory.

That's just one of many events in which GOD has blessed someone for being obedient.

Here are a couple more before I close, How about Abraham, he was "blessed and highly favored" do you remember what he had to do?

Then HE said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you." Gen 22:2

	Abraham had to walk his son, for 3 days I might add, then take him up a mountain cut his throat, then set him on fire, as a burnt offering, to the LORD. Oh, how about this one, in John chapter 5 the man that had been lame and tried to get to the spring of Bethesda for 39 years, Jesus shows up and says. if you want to be healed;

Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. John 5:8-9

Okay, just one more, I can go on like this all day, because in every instance "action" was required by the "blessed and highly favored" recipient of the miracle.

John chapter 9, one of my favorites, Jesus, speaking to a man "blind from the womb"

And HE said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing - John 9:7

In this one Jesus spits on the ground making mud, packs it in the mans eyes and tells him, "Now walk to the pool and wash it off". are you getting the picture? Action is required!

See, GOD wants to Bless us, and we are highly favored, but the blessing requires action, you can't just sit and wait for something to happen. If you need work, get up, dress up and go look for a job. Need a place to live? Same thing. in all cases GOD will close doors and open doors until HE has led you to where you can best serve HIM.

That's how it works.NOW! Take up your mat and walk!

	We love you all

Time for a Tune up

I have an 11 year old Hyundai Sonata, it has 170K miles, runs like a top, and. it's paid for! But I figured it was about time to take it in and have a mechanic look at it. 700 dollars later it still runs like a top! But, apparently, I needed a whole lot of little things that will help me go another 100K miles, so I'm glad I took it in.

It made think about my spiritual walk and how, over time, I start to slip a little, and a little more and before to long I'm not living a Godly life at all, so I thought I might need a tune up.so might you!

So here are a few tune-up questions we should ask ourselves as believers:

Do I obey the Word of God? We can't obey it if we don't know what it says. So first, we need to read it. Are we keeping His commandments?

Do I believe the Word of God? Pastor Rick tells me that I only believe the parts of the Bible I do. Am I doing what God commands me to do?

Do I reject this world system that is hostile to God? When a person becomes a Christian, he or she sees this world for what it is, because his or her priorities have changed.

Do I eagerly await Christ's return? If we truly are followers of Christ, we will look forward to the day when He will come again.

Do I see a decreasing pattern of sin in my life? That is not to say true Christians will not sin, because we will. But there is a difference between continuing in sin and trying to sin less and less.

Do I love others? Jesus said, "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35). If we are children of God, then we will love His people, and we will love to be around them.

You might be thinking, So am I hitting the Mark. Well not really, sin does mean "miss the mark". So, there is always room for improvement. That is why it's good to periodically tune up our lives to see whether we are doing what we ought to do. Look, here's the deal. we can fool people all day long, they only see us a couple hours a day, we can even fool our families. want to get really scared. if you're a Pastor you can even fool your congregation but, in the end, we don't stand before any of those people, we stand before GOD who knows who we really are!! You can't hide

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. Psalm 139:7-12

	We love you all

keep it simple

	I like to consider myself sort of an amateur physicist, there are many things in that field I find absolutely fascinating. One of them is referred to as "the chaos theory", or "quantum mechanics". Which state that the universe is in a constant state of chaos and some "unknown force" is keeping everything in "order". The opposite side of that coin talks about quantum mechanics. Which says; since it is true that all physical laws follow a natural order, then we must accept the truth that some intelligent presence is capable of doing super-natural things outside of that order, otherwise physical laws simply become assumptions, I believe what they are trying to say is. their really is a GOD, call HIM whatever you want. HE is who HE is. Look at the latest statements from our scientist regarding Chaos theory and quantum mechanics;

The validity, authority and reliability of the Bible were all the more confirmed.

Quantum Mechanics and Chaos Theory shed new and surprising light on major Biblical events, such as the creation, the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the nature of God, man and the universe.

The emergence of Jesus Christ and the church of Jesus Christ on the terrestrial surface was preceded and is explained by highly similar events in the material universe.

The debate between creationism and evolutionism was rendered obsolete (leaving neither victorious, by the way).

	Looks like HE wins. again!

I have hated those who regard useless idols; But I trust in the LORD.
I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. Ps 31:6-8

	Don't buy the lie!!

Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. IS 40:21-26

	HE Lives!

	We love you all

Life is Changing

	Life is Changing

"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

A car cannot stay in first gear - unless it really isn't going anywhere anyway. And neither can we. You've got to make a shift in order to move upward and onward into the high calling of your life's noble purpose. God has placed eternity in our heart, and earthbound dreams simply cannot satisfy us any longer. It's time we learn how to handle life's surprising turns without stripping our gears.

Sometimes to shift us, God has to sift us. His purpose is to remove the chaff, and to reveal the gold. Webster's defines shift as "changing the place, position, or direction of something." Have you experienced any shift lately? A shift in place, in position, or in direction? If so, how are you handling it? Are you blowing a gasket, or going with the flow?

The wisest man who ever lived, Solomon, wrote, "To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." In other words, shift happens. The issue is how we respond when it comes. The un-shifted life is untested, and therefore unproven. As such it is unreliable. And for that reason it is often unnoticed and unused.

Life is change, and to refuse to change is to refuse to grow. Sometimes the change is welcomed, often times it is not - but either way, it comes at us without prejudice and requires that we respond. Ideally we want to respond in positive, proactive, and purposeful ways. Those who do will grow stronger, better, wiser, and richer. Those who refuse to embrace change will not only fail in life, ultimately they will perish.

If we will not shift when God is moving us to do so, if we will not change our ways, then our only alternative is to become shiftless - people who are lacking in resourcefulness, ambition, or incentive;"Moab has always taken it easy," the Lord said to Jeremiah, "lazy as a dog in the sun; never had to work for a living, never faced any trouble, never had to grow up, never once worked up a sweat. But those days are a thing of the past, I'll put him to work at hard labor. That will wake him up to the world of hard knocks. That will smash his illusions" Jeremiah 48:11-12, The Message

This seems to describe so many in our society today, especially those who have grown up pampered in the freedom that was purchased and provided by the hardship and heartbreak of others. We must take heed that we do not take for granted the liberty and abundance of life we as a nation have so richly enjoyed, lest we unexpectedly lose what we so carelessly hold.

There have been numerous nations throughout history who regarded themselves as invincible until they fell from grace.

We would be great fools to think it could not happen to us.

	We love you all!

Saddleback Corona's Men's group

	The Exemplary Life

"Live an exemplary life." (1 Peter 2:12, The Message).

Exemplary means "serving as a commendable pattern to be imitated." No pressure here, but may I ask what about your life as a follower of Jesus would others say is exemplary? If the question leaves you a bit unsettled that's a good thing. Because it shows that you at least care.

Some of us squirm out of false humility. "Aw shucks," we reply, "why, golly, there's nothing in me that even comes close to being like Jesus." Oh, grow up!

Others of us squirm for more substantial reasons. We know two things. One, we are called to something better. And two, we are settling for less.

Peter said, "Friends, this world is not your home, so don't make yourselves cozy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul." (1 Peter 2:11).

Jesus wants to fill us each with His spirit, thereby making our lives exemplary. He wants us to be good friends, good parents, good neighbors, good employees, good employers, good people. So good, in fact, that even those who otherwise oppose us cannot help but commend our lives.

This is do-able. So. let's do it!

Great to be back!!

It is so great to be back home from our Mission Trip to the Marshall Islands and The Federated States of Micronesia. One of the ways that God describes the Church is as a family and we felt like we were away from our family while we were gone. The amazing thing is that we met NEW FAMILY MEMBER while we were on our Mission Trip. We are all one body united in Christ Jesus and this couldn't have been more apparent to us than when we were on Mission.

The reminder for me and for all of us is that we are all on Mission the moment that we accepted Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. This life and all that is here on earth is only temporary, let's not get fooled in believing that here and now is all that matters. Jesus promised to go ahead of us to prepare our home in heaven (paradise). We are to live on mission where ever we are, and whomever we are around. Go and share the "Good News" and be that light for all who are still living in the dark.

Here is a link to a slide show of our trip.
God Bless You and May the presence of God shine upon you,

Easter FAQs You have questions? We've got answers!

Where can I get tickets?
Saddleback will be distributing tickets after every service this weekend.

Can I pick the section I want to sit in?
On Saturday night, there will be open seating for all attending the event. For the Sunday morning service, you will not have this option - all tickets will be distributed in order and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

When do the gates open?
On Saturday, the parking lot opens at 4:00 p.m., with the stadium gates opening at 5:00 p.m.
On Sunday, the parking lot opens at 6:00 a.m., with the gates opening at 8:00 a.m.

Can we tailgate in the parking lot?
Yes. There will be limited space available under the Big "A" near the 57 freeway on Saturday and Sunday.

Will there be things for my children to do?
We have prepared a bag of goodies for all children 4-10 years old. This bag includes a small bottle of water, animal crackers, activity booklet and crayons. In addition, there will be games to play and other activities available through your section host at the stadium.

Can you bring food and drinks into the stadium?
Yes. You can bring in small bottles of water and snacks for your family. There will be no concession stands open at the stadium. Please note; all bags will be checked by stadium security prior to entry

What if my friend is hearing impaired?
There will be a designated section for those who are hearing impaired. Contact jimb@saddleback.com to learn more.

Can I spend the night at the stadium?
For security reasons, the stadium does not allow overnight camping.

Will there be tickets available at Angel Stadium the day of the event?
All tickets are available at Saddleback campuses only. Check www.EasterAtSaddleback.com for updates.
Yes. Further details will be available next weekend.

Do you have childcare?
There will be no childcare at the Angel Stadium services. However, there will be a family-friendly environment offered at Saddleback's Lake Forest location at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Pastor Rick is Visiting the Corona Campus

Hi Everyone,

I just got off a conference call tonight and Pastor Rick is visiting all 4 campuses tomorrow (February 14, 2010). He will be at the Corona Campus at the end of the 10:30am service to say a quick HI to everyone and then back on the road.

Please let everyone you can know, so we can show our Sr. Pastor how much we appreciate him and his Ministry.

God Bless & Happy Valentines Day.
Pastor David Williamson

Girls Night Out

This past Friday, a group of us attended "Girls Night Out" at the Lake
Forest Campus! What a night of encouragement! Sarah Kelley lead our
worship and did an amazing job! Debbie Eaton was a great source of
encouragement and setting the vision for Womens Ministry.
Debbie
shared a wonderful verse with us, Isaiah 43:18,19- "But forget all
that- it is nothing compared to what I'm going to do! For I'm going to
do a brand new thing. See, I have already begun! Don't you see it? I
will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to
go home, and create rivers for them in the desert!"
What a great
verse. It was such a great reminder of not only what God is going to do
in Womens Ministry but also at Saddleback Corona.
God is already
doing amazing things and we are planning on relaunching the Womens
Ministry at Saddleback Corona. We will keep you informed to upcoming
events.
Blessings,
Belinda Williamson
