Partnering in Prayer
11/07/2019 .Recently, a group of High School Ministry students from Lake Forest and members from Saddleback Laguna Woods, one of our California campuses located in a senior-living community, proved that new relationships can happen anywhere. Last week, for the first time, our members from Laguna Woods who are passionate about living on mission and excited to support the next generation partnered in prayer with a group of High School Ministry students who are about to head to the Philippines on a PEACE trip.
When the people at our church come together — and commit to invest in the life of the church — big things happen! Here are a couple of their stories.
"I have a heart for the young people. I have six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I want to join in with young people in our church in any way I can. I didn’t know any of these students before today, but I can see the leadership they bring, I was so impressed by the way they lead us in worship. It brought me back to when I was a young person and I made commitments to the Lord during a worship song. The presence of the Lord is so real and I want these students and the others they worship with to feel that too. I’m going to pray for this group every morning and the other women in my small group said that we would pray together for them as well."
"My mom was a prayer warrior, I remember growing up and watching her pray for me and my siblings. In my 20s I became too busy to make time for God, but my mom kept praying for me until I came back to God later in life. I’m excited to pray for the students to see the difference they can make. I love their passion and energy, they are so bold and so obedient and I’m just praying that they will go out and do what God has called them to do."
