Talk It Over
Prayer: David's Prayers
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called David’s Prayers with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. Remember that prayer is praising and thanking God!
- What was your favorite part of the video we just watched?
- What is prayer? Prayer is talking to God!
- Who prayed in today’s Bible story? What did you think about the way he prayed? David prayed and talked to God. He celebrated and praised God and gave thanks to him his whole life.
- When we praise God, we celebrate who God is. What are some things you know about God that you want to praise him for? Some examples include: God is good, loving, Creator of the world, our comforter, etc.
- When we thank God, we tell him “thank you” for the good things he does and the things he gives us in our lives. What are some things you would like to thank God for? Some examples include thanking God for loving us, food, shelter, our family or friends, etc.
- How do you feel about praying to God? Since praying is just talking to God, you can talk to him in your normal voice the way you would talk to anyone. Remember you can always start by just saying thank you to God! It can be something serious or silly – it doesn’t matter – God loves you so much. Take some time right now to pray like Philippians 4:6 tells us to pray by giving thanks and praise to God. Remember, that verse says that we can thank God for all he has done!
Hey parents! We have something just for you. We encourage you to read over this devotional sometime this week as a way to reflect on the Bible story your child saw from Church at Home. We love you!
