Talk It Over
Jesus' Sacrifice
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called Jesus' Sacrifice with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. Remember the One Thing:Jesus is alive for me!
- What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
- Why did the Jewish leaders think Jesus deserved to die? Because he claimed to be God, and they believed he was lying.
- Which disciple betrayed Jesus? Judas. He led the leader and the guards to arrest Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.
- After his arrest, what happened to Jesus? He was treated as a criminal and put to death even though he didn’t do anything wrong.
- Why didn’t Jesus save himself? He knew he had to die so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life. He took the punishment so that we wouldn’t have to be punished for our sin and could belong to God’s family.
- What did the women find in the tomb where Jesus was buried three days after his death? The tomb was empty. An angel appeared and told the women that Jesus wasn’t there. He was alive! This amazing miracle proved that Jesus was who he said he was. He was God who is more powerful than death, and he is our Savior.
Spend a few minutes talking with your child about what salvation is and what it means. Allow them to ask you any questions they might have about this Bible story and the real and true reason we celebrate Easter.
Hey parents! We have something just for you to enjoy this Bible story for yourself. We encourage you to read over this devotional sometime this week as a way for you to reflect on the Bible story your child saw from Church at Home.
DownloadEach week, we have a variety of activity pages to help your child remember the week’s lesson. They include new coloring pages and activity sheets to enjoy!
