Talk It Over
Jesus Calls Peter
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called Jesus Calls Peter with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home early childhood video. Remember the Big Idea: I was made to be friends with Jesus.
- What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
- What was Simon Peter’s job? He was a fisherman.
- What did Jesus change Simon’s name to? Peter.
- What did Jesus ask Peter to do? Follow him and be his disciple and friend.
- What does it mean to be Jesus’ friend? He is always with you. He always listens to you. He loves you no matter what.
- What happens when you choose to follow Jesus? You choose to be friends with Jesus. You tell him you love him, you believe in him, you are sorry for your wrong choices, and you will do your best to follow him. Then you are in God’s family.
- Spend a few minutes talking with your child about what makes a good friend. Remind them that Jesus is the best friend they will ever have!
Hey parents! We have something just for you to enjoy this Bible story for yourself. We encourage you to read over this devotional sometime this week as a way to reflect on the Bible story your child saw from Church at Home.
DownloadYour child will create their own friendship band to remember the Bible story and the friendship bracelets Izzi and Sarah made. Their band with a heart will remind them Jesus wants to be their friend!
DownloadEnjoy pure fun with your child playing this week’s activity, reminding your child of the Bible story of Jesus and Peter the fisherman!
