    The Roman's Road

    07/17/2017 .

The Roman’s Road paints a great image of how we can receive eternal life. It explains God’s free gift of salvation, how Jesus took our punishment for sin, and that we can call on God and be saved by opening our hearts to him. You may be asking, what is the Roman’s Road? It is a collection 6 verses from Paul’s letter to the Romans that describe God’s Salvation plan. Take a journey with us on the Roman Road.

What is the Roman’s Road? It is a collection 6 verses from Paul’s letter to the Romans that describe God’s Salvation plan.

    The Problem: Sin

“For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23

This verse shows how all of us are not perfect, we all make bad decisions. We have all done things displeasing to God.

    The Consequence: Separation From God

“For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

This verse shows that God’s free gift is what saves us from eternal death and gives us eternal life. That’s right it’s free, there is nothing that we need to do to earn it, we just accept it.

The Solution: God’s Plan and Gift

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8

    Your Response: Confess and Receive

“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with god, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10

We receive eternal life through faith alone. We simply believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus died for us and rose again. The book of Romans reminds us that we are not made right with God through good behavior but through trusting Him.

    Assurance: God’s Promise

“For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

God is the one who saves us, we can call on his name and trust that he will be there for us. This is available to anyone and everyone, what great news!

    Joy and Peace

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

This verse varies when people share the Roman Road. In the She Reads Truth Romans Study we are doing this summer, it ended with this verse. It is a sweet reminder of how our lives will begin to change as we trust and follow Jesus. God will take our broken lives and begin to fill us with hope, joy, peace, and power. What a loving father we have!

The Roman’s Road is a roadmap to God. We encourage you to memorize these verses so that you are equipped to lead others to Jesus. Memorizing scripture is powerful and God will use you to help others when you do.
