Day 6 – Ask, Seek, Knock
March 25, 2023 .“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8, NLT)
What are you waiting for? And how are you praying for it?
I wonder how many Israelites missed Jesus as the Messiah simply because they stopped praying for and seeking his coming. I can only imagine how hard it was to hold on to hope for so long, but also how devastating it must have been to miss God's fulfillment of his promise. May we never miss out on God's promises because we grew weary of waiting!
Waiting is hard; prayer helps us hold onto hope and keep our head in the game.
In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus gives us three things to do while we're waiting. So as you pray today for personal breakthrough, pray this way:
Keep on asking. No problem is too big and no concern is too small. Your heavenly Father cares about it all. As you talk to God about the things on your heart, be open to how he might change or redirect the desires of your heart.
Keep on seeking. Look for how God is moving — it might be different than you think! One thing you can know for sure is that God is always on the move.
Keep on knocking. Do everything in your power to bring about the change you want to see in your personal life, and trust God to do the things that only his power can accomplish.
What are you waiting and praying for? If you talk to God about it, keep your eyes open, and do your part, you'll live an extraordinary life of seeing the miracles of God all around you.
