Saddleback Cares for Those Impacted by Coronavirus
03/14/2020Pastor Rick has reminded us every crisis in our world is an open door to show God's love. While the current environment around the nation is one of fear, God is in control. Now, more than ever is an opportunity for the Church to outshine the darkness and serve people in pain.
As the coronavirus affects many, the burden on the most vulnerable is increasing. When schools close, children in poverty no longer receive subsidized meals, and places for vulnerable families to receive food, like community food pantries, are closing rapidly. We are committed to standing in the gap for our community in the area of food, and our food pantries are committed to remaining open as long as health and safety permit. If you would like to give to the efforts to provide food and care kits to the community as part of Saddleback’s coronavirus response, click "give" below.
Jesus, we know that you do not give us a spirit of fear, but rather one of power, love, and a sound mind. As anxiety increases and things are uncertain for so many, would we remember that you are our constant. Please be with those impacted by the virus. Heal the sick and comfort the hurting. Allow us to use this opportunity to shine brightly as your Church in our community to come alongside people with support, with care, and with comfort. Would your church be a beacon of hope as we meet physical, spiritual and practical needs in this time. Amen.
