Freezing Conditions in Texas
02/16/2021Record-breaking cold combined with power outages are creating dangerous freezing conditions for millions in Texas as large parts of the country face a sudden cold snap. Some have been without electricity or heat for at least 24 hours, and parts of the region have posted their lowest temperatures since 1989 in the aftermath of a severe winter storm.
PEACE Relief is working to provide financial assistance to a PD church in Wimberly, Texas that is housing people without electricity or water and is working to coordinate with other churches in the region.
God, we pray for an end to the cold snap, a return of power to the region, and for God’s protection for those facing the cold. We pray that those who need shelter, warmth, and protection would find support quickly. Thank you that you reign over the weather, and over all the things that feel out of control in our lives. Be near those who need you today in Texas. Amen
