Partnering with Polish Churches Caring for Ukrainian Refugees
03/03/2022The Saddleback Relief Team has been connecting with pastors in Poland who are preparing to receive Ukrainian refugees.
Polish Pastor Krzysztof shared with our Saddleback Relief Team that his church has brought in 170 Ukrainian refugees and their church members have welcomed 50 people into their homes.
A Ukrainian refugee named Hania shared "Ukraine really needs your prayers,” after immediately arriving in Warsaw, Poland. Hania and her family are now safe with one of the church member’s families - and so are over 50 others. They are all missing loved ones and praying for those who stayed in Ukraine.
Christian Fellowship North Warsaw, a Purpose Driven Church and friend of Saddleback’s for many years, launched a database to help care for the incoming refugees. This database of church members gathers information on who is willing to help receive refugees and provide: housing, time, transportation, and translators.
Saddleback Relief Teams are preparing to go to Poland to see how they can help the many refugees coming from Ukraine. Our church’s Relief teams will be serving with the in-country church members who will be there long term serving these displaced families until they are settled or return to their country of origin. We hope to send teams from Saddleback in the coming months.
Your prayers are powerful! Continue to pray for Ukraine and the churches preparing to care for refugees.
