You might have heard that Hurricane Hilary is heading to Southern California around Sunday and Monday. It could bring extra rain when the storm makes landfall.

Please keep checking your local weather alerts for information about the hurricane's status. We also suggest these steps to stay prepared:

1. Pray

Pray for peace and wisdom while you prepare for this storm. Ask God to guide your steps.
Pray for the storm to weaken before making landfall and protection for anyone that may be impacted.
Pray for any first responders as they prepare, and for peace and strength for their families.

2. Plan

Keep your phone charged and bring your charger and portable batteries with you
Secure your patio furniture
Keep extra batteries on hand in case of a power outage
Buy extra non-perishable food and water
Stock a week's worth of any prescribed medicine you need
Make an emergency kit
Make a plan with your family and loved ones in case of an evacuation, including your pets
