    Who God Chooses & Uses

    Rick Warren | December 10, 2017

Christmas is a time to celebrate traditions — from gathering with family to giving gifts to loved ones. Many of these holiday practices started at the first Christmas with the birth of Jesus. In this message, Pastor Rick Warren shares the many ways we can learn from the Christmas story and those whom God chooses and uses. Don’t miss the adorable children’s pageant performed by Saddleback Kids and narrated by Pastor Rick. You’ll hear a story of survival, hope, peace, healing, and joy. Discover how the original Christmas story teaches us how to celebrate God’s existence, contemplate on his Word, dedicate our gifts to Jesus, and cooperate with his plan for our lives.

HOW TO BE BLESSED BY GOD THIS CHRISTMAS

    1. LIKE JOSEPH:COOPERATE WITH GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE

“Joseph was a good man and didn’t want to publicly disgrace Mary, so he planned to quietly divorce her. But an angel appeared to him in a dream . . .  When Joseph woke up, he did exactly what the angel of the Lord had commanded him to do, and took Mary home as his wife.” Matthew 1:19-24

ACTION PLAN: Do you regularly invite God into your decision-making? Try to be thoughtful of that this week. Talk to God every morning about decisions that you need to make, and throughout the day try to stop and involve God.

    1. LIKE THE SHEPHERDS: CELEBRATE THAT GOD IS HERE WITH US

“The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem and there they found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in a manger. When they had seen him . . . they returned to their fields, singing praises and thanking God for all they had heard and seen, which happened just as the angel had told them.” Luke 2:16 & 20

    1. LIKE MARY: CONTEMPLATE CONTINUALLY ON GOD'S WORD

“Then the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. Everyone else who heard the shepherds' story were amazed, but, Mary TREASURED UP all the words she heard and CONTINUED TO QUIETLY PONDER THEM in her heart.”   Luke 2:17-19

ACTION PLAN: Commit to memorizing a meaningful passage of the Bible this week (Maybe start with Isaiah 9:6 for the Christmas season). You can usehttps://learnscripture.net/to help you memorize this verse and any other piece of Scripture.

    1. LIKE THE WISE MEN: DEDICATE MY TIME AND GIFTS TO JESUS

“When the Wise Men saw the child with his mother Mary, they bowed down and worshipped him! Then they opened their treasure chests and presented him with gifts of gold and incense and myrrh. And being warned by God in a dream, they headed home by a different way.”

    Matthew 2:11

ACTION PLAN: There are still plenty of opportunities to serve at Christmas services!Click hereto learn more.
