Your child will be led by Adult and Student leaders. All Adult leaders have completed an FBI and DOJ background check.

Your children will be in groups that stay together for the four day event. Each day consists of games, crafts, light snacks; outdoor activities (including bounce houses, obstacle courses, skill games, water slide inflatables), a multimedia program with live worship & teaching.

The theme of this year is “HERO.” Jesus is the hero of our story.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my student request to be in a cabin with specific friends and/or leaders?

Yes! There is space on the registration form for friend and leader requests. We will do our very best to place each student with at least one of their requests.

Who are the leaders? Can parents come as leaders?

Our Leaders are all adult volunteers who have gone through the extensive Saddleback Student Ministries volunteer onboarding process, which includes an FBI background check, fingerprinting, staff interview, orientation, and training. There will be one adult leader for every five students at camp. Any parent interested in coming is welcome to apply!

How many people will be staying in each cabin?

Depending on the size of the cabin, capacities will range from about 6-15 people. Every cabin will have at least two adult leaders. Individual cabins will only be accessible to the campers and leaders staying in them. In other words, we ask all campers and counselors to stay out of other people's cabins and only access their own.

How does transportation to/from camp work?

We will be taking buses to and from camp. The buses will depart from and return to Saddleback Church Lake Forest both weeks.

My son/daughter has dietary restrictions – who do I contact about that?

Please list any restrictions and/or allergies your student has on their registration and we will pass these along to Thousand Pines. The Thousand Pines dining staff is very accommodating with dietary restrictions and allergies. You are more than welcome to call the camp yourself! Their number is: 909-338-2705.

What if my son/daughter gets homesick while at camp?

It happens! Our leaders and staff will do our best to help your student get through their homesickness and will keep you in the loop when necessary. If, however, they are not able to bounce back after 24 hours, we will call you to come pick them up.

I’m not sure if I can afford the cost for camp – what are my options?

We don’t want finances to stand in the way of your son/daughter coming to camp. We have payment plans and scholarships available based upon need. You can apply for a scholarship here.

What’s the difference between the two weeks of camp?

Nothing! Both weeks are exactly the same. Because of Saddleback’s size, we can't all fit in one week at Thousand Pines. We love Thousand Pines so much that we would rather do two weeks of the same camp than one week with less students able to attend. Week 1 is for Lake Forest students only, Week 2 is for all campus students, including Lake Forest.

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

Partial refunds are available until July 10, 2026. $99 of the registration cost is nonrefundable. All cancellations beginning July 11, 2026 cannot be refunded in part or in whole.

How does the waitlist work?

We try our absolute best to take as many students as possible with us to Summer Camp! Spots are filled based on a student's specific grade and gender.
