Grocery Distributions

Purpose Statement

Giving People hope, purpose, and food.

How to Serve

FOOD PANTRY

One hour served in the food pantry feeds a family for a week!

If you would like to share your time at one of our Saddleback Food Pantry locations, please select the location in the pulldown and either click the “Volunteer” button or send an email to Email Food Pantry.

FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTION CENTER (WAREHOUSE)

This is where we sort, date-check and prepare food for distribution to our Regional Food Pantries. Our volunteer shift is from 9am until noon on Saturday. We welcome those age 8 and older. Those age 8 to 12 must come with a parent. This is a great small group or “first step” serving opportunity, please email Carlo to schedule an appointment.

FOOD RESCUE DRIVERS

We need drivers to pick up hundreds of food rescues from local stores each month and deliver them to the Food Pantry Distribution Center. For our larger grocery store pickups, we may train you to drive our Food Pantry trucks (no special license is required). Pickups are scheduled mornings Monday through Saturday. Please contact Janelle Grose for more information.

How to Donate

If you would like to donate non-perishable food, you may do so by putting it in the Food Pantry bins on your campus. Or you may bring it to the bins available in the Central Lot of the Lake Forest campus 24/7.

How to Receive Food

We are happy to bless those in need once every 30 days from one of the locations below. For the first visit, we ask to see verification of address, a picture ID (or copy) for every member of the household 18 and older who will be receiving food, and ID with Date of Birth for every minor.

Give Help

There are four ways you can support our ministry:

Grocery Distribution Volunteer

One hour served in the grocery distribution feeds a family for a week! If you would like to share your time at one of our Saddleback Grocery Distribution locations, please click here or send an email to the Grocery Distribution.

Grocery Distribution Center (Warehouse)

This is where we sort, date-check and pack food for distribution to our Regional Food Pantries, as well as prepare supplies for every grocery distribution event. Our volunteer shifts are Monday through Saturday. We welcome those age 8 and older. Those age 8 to 12 must come with a parent. This is a great way for a small group to serve together. Please email Jaycob Johnson for more information on serving opportunities.

Food Rescue Drivers

We need drivers to pick up hundreds of food rescues from local stores each month and deliver them to the Grocery Distribution Center. For our larger grocery store pickups, we may train you to drive our Grocery Distribution trucks (no special license is required). Pickups are scheduled mornings Monday through Saturday. Please contact Solange Montoya for more information.

How to Donate

If you would like to donate non-perishable food, you may do so by putting it in the Grocery Distribution bins on your campus. Or you may bring it to the bins available in the Central Lot of the Lake Forest campus 24/7. To give financially to support grocery distribution in our community here in Southern California, click here, and if you'd like to give to support the Santa Rosa, Philippines food pantry, click here (please indicate "Food Pantry" in notes).
