    Interview with Dick Riddle

    06/23/2023

Dick Riddle has been a Small Group HOST at Saddleback for about 30 years. We asked Dick about some questions to get a glimpse into all that God has done in and through their small group!

How long has your small group been together?

Our group has been together for approximately 30+ years.

What is one of your most fond memories of your small group?

12 members of our small group went together to Branson Missouri for a week of activities in Branson, Missouri. We enjoyed many shows and great food and just being together.

What is a tough situation that your small group walked through together? What is something you've learned during that season?

We have gone through about four deaths in our small group. At one time we had 19 people in our small group.  Right now one of our members has terminal cancer and will be passing away soon. We know we will be together in heaven, but it is still tough when you lose people that you’ve grown to love.

If you were to give advice to a small group that is just starting, what would it be?

I think the longer you stay together, the closer you get to each other, and the Lord.  We have gone on mission trips to Mexico, to the Navajo nation, Africa, and to China.  We have also participated in many ministries at Saddleback Church. We have not only served but we’ve grown spiritually.

What do you look forward to in the future with your small group?

We frequently have socials, and we just enjoy being together. Most of the time we study books in the Bible and God’s word has changed our lives. We look forward to getting closer to the Lord as we continue to study his word and continue to serve the Lord.

We hope that Dick's story is encouraging to you and your small group. Life truly is better together!
