Talk It Over
Jesus Calls Peter
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called Jesus Calls Peter with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. And remember the One Thing: You were made to be friends with Jesus!
- What was your favorite part of the video we just watched? Do you have any questions about what you saw?
- Who did Simon go with his brother, Andrew, to meet? Jesus.
- What did Jesus change Simon’s name to? Peter.
- What happened when Peter went out to fish with Jesus after he had finished fishing for the day? They caught so many fish it started to tear the nets and they had to ask for help from another boat!
- What did Peter decide to do after this happened? He chose to follow Jesus and be his disciple and friend.
- What does it mean to you to be Jesus’ friend? Share some good things about Jesus. For example: He will always be with you. You can talk to him whenever you want to. He loves you no matter what.
- Talk with your child about the qualities that make a good friend. Remind them that Jesus is the best friend they will ever have! If they haven’t made the choice to be friends with Jesus, talk about what that means together.
Hey parents! We have something just for you to enjoy this Bible story for yourself. We encourage you to read over this devotional sometime this week as a way to reflect on the Bible story your child saw from Church at Home.
