Talk It Over
Noah and the Flood
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called Noah and the Flood with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home early childhood video. Remember the Big Idea: I can have faith in God’s plans.
- What was your favorite part of the video we just watched?
- Why did God send a flood? All the people on Earth were making wrong choices – they were doing evil things. Noah was the only person who followed God.
- What were God’s instructions to Noah? To build a boat and put two of each animal on it.
- What happened to Noah and his family? God kept them safe from the flood in the boat he told Noah to build!
- What was the sign God put in the sky to show his promise to never flood the Earth again? A rainbow!
- How does God show us his plans and the good things he wants us to do? The Bible, through his helper the Holy Spirit, through other people who love Jesus. We can know and understand more of his plans when we pray to him and listen for him.
- What are some of God’s plans for you and me? To love him forever, to love other people, and to be a part of his family.
- Pray with your child. You might say something like this: Dear God, thank you for your good plans for me. Help me to listen to you and trust you. Thank you that your plan is for me to be a part of your family. Amen.
Hey parents! We have something just for you to enjoy this week’s Bible story for yourself. Read over this devotion sometime this week as a way for you to reflect on the Bible story your child saw from Church at Home. We love you!
DownloadWith this craft, kids will remember the story of Noah as they color and create this special door hanger. Noah had faith in God’s plans, and we can too! This door hanger will remind the kids of God’s good plan.
DownloadIn this activity, you will use various objects to create an obstacle course for your child! As you create a plan and path for them, you will reinforce the teaching that they can have faith in God’s plan, too.
DownloadEach week we have a new coloring page and activity sheet for your child to remember the Bible story for the week and learn more about our Big Idea.
