    The Lamb’s Freedom

    Saddleback Church | July 19, 2015

We live in a world that has 24/7 access to the news — from tweets and websites to TV and radio, breaking headlines are everywhere. Unfortunately, that news is predominately negative. The best news that ever happened occurred 2,000 years ago with the arrival of Jesus Christ. All who have made that change to accept him are changed forever. We are set free from sin, past failures, and addiction. We are free from fear, worry, and eternal condemnation. Christ does not define us by our past failures. He defines us with his grace, which he paid for with his life. Pastor Samuel Rodriguez speaks about being free through Christ in Part Two of The Best News I’ve Ever Heard.

The Lamb's Freedom -The Best News I've Ever Heard
    Samuel Rodriguez -July 18-19, 2015
    Jesus, the Lamb of God

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 (NLT)

But they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not cling to life even in the face of death. Revelation 12:11 (NRSV)

    1. THE ONE WHO IS FREE IS THE ONE WHO ACCOMPLISHES GREAT THINGS!

      - Pray a prayer of thanksgiving for the freedom you have in Christ - freedom from sin, freedom from despair, freedom from fear.

      - Read the stories of Moses, David, and Daniel to see how God made heroes out of ordinary men.

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 (NIV)

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11 (NLT)
    2. THE CROSS IS OUR PATH TO FREEDOM, VERTICALLY IT CONNECTS US TO GOD; HORIZONTALLY IT STRETCHES OUT TO CONNECT US WITH FAMILY, COMMUNITY, AND SOCIETY!

      - Pray that your family, your community and the world will come to know the One who came to reconcile man with God.

      - Remember that as a member of the church, you are a member of God's family; you are the light of the world, a child of the living God, an ambassador for Christ.

Through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross. Colossians 1:20 (NLT)

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.  2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV)
    3. DO NOT LET YOUR PAST, YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, OR WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT YOU DEFINE YOU -FIND YOUR IDENTITY IN THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST WITHIN YOU.

      - Pray that the Holy Spirit will increase your faith in Jesus's ability to turn your focus away from any hell you have gone through toward the heaven you are going to

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
    4. IN CHRIST, WE HAVE THE POWER TO OVERCOME OUR CIRCUMSTANCES.

      - Write down the trials you are facing and thank God in advance for showing you what you can do to overcome them.

      - Let the stories of Job, Jonah, and Jesus remind you that all things are possible with God.

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." John 16:33 (NLT)
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  Romans 8:37 (NIV)
    5. THE PURPOSE OF GOD IS GREATER THAN THEBROKENESS OF MAN.

      - Pray that God will show you His purpose for you and your family
      - Pray that God will protect you from all evil.
      - Pray that God will cover you and your family with the Blood of the Lamb.
      - Listen to the archive of this sermon at www.sadleback.comto hear the amazing personal testimony of Pastor Rodriguez.
