I was MADE FOR WORSHIP!
I can worship that which is not:
- BRINGING ME FREEDOM
- SATISFYING MY SOUL
- WORTHY OF MY LIFE
My True and Proper Worship:
- Is my RESPONSE TO THE LIVING GOD. (Romans 12:1-2)
ACTION PLAN: In your journal this week, write an honest assessment of how you feel when you take a seat for worship services. Do you have the same excitement that a dog shows his master when his master arrives home? Or are you experiencing dullness? Ask God to restore the joy of your salvation bring you to the place of being able to worship from your heart.
The Bible's Words for Worship:
- To COME TOWARD AND KISS
- To MAGNIFY AND EXALT
- To SERVE GOD
- Is my ONGOING AND COMPLETE SURRENDER. (Romans 12:1-2)
Action Plan: If you have not been baptized, this is your chance to declare that you are a child of the Most High God - that you have given your life to Jesus and made him the Lord of your life. Your baptism is a symbol that you are all in for Jesus and will serve him only. Sign-up to be baptized at Saddleback.com/baptism.
- Is my LAVISH OUTPOURING OF ADORATION. (John 12:1-8)
ACTION PLAN: Mary’s act of worship was lavishly pouring priceless oil on Jesus' feet. Mary kept this precious oil in an alabaster box. We each have an alabaster box. What we keep in it differs. One of our most valuable possessions is our time. Arrive 15 minutes early for the worship service next week so that you are not rushed. Use that time to focus in on the Lord to begin to present yourself to him as a living sacrifice.
Diving Deeper: For times of personal retreat, listen to Saddleback's The Well podcast. This 10-15 minute episodes offer a guided time with God through prayer and reflection on Scripture.
