3Ticketsto a Better Train of Thought:
1. A Better Mindset Is Familial
How can I prioritize the needs of others this week?
ACTION PLAN: Take a few minutes today to look at your schedule. Look at what is filling your days to see if it matches up with your family role and values. Do you have space in your week to match your values of being a great parent or spouse or neighbor? Build time into your schedule this week to be what you want to be – a great spouse, parent or child by making time to let your loved ones know that they are important to you through the gifts of yourself and your time.
2. A Better Mindset Is Humble
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus
What rights do I need to lay aside for God's greater purpose?
ACTION PLAN: Think about the things you feel entitled to. To be like Jesus, who laid down His rights as King of Kings and came here as a servant, what could you give up? Consider giving up a planned vacation to go on a PEACE trip, or giving up one Saturday a month to work at the PEACE farm, or a Sunday morning or weekday evening to serve our kids in Saddleback Kids. Begin by taking the third class of our discipleship series to find our your unique S.H.A.P.E for ministry at www.saddleback.com/discover.
3. A Better Mindset Is Eternal
Where am I currently prioritizing the immediate over the ultimate?
ACTION PLAN: When you come home from school or work, do you sit down in front of a screen? Instead of picking up the remote or a device, pick up your Bible. Choose to have time with the Lord as your first choice, your go-to for refreshment. Try it today and see how you feel. Time with God will turn your eyes from the immediacy of this world to the eternal realities of His Kingdom.
