- Contentment isn't found in what I have

- Don't confuse contentment with complacency
- Contentment isn't found in comparing myself with others

Enrolling in the School of Contentment
- Put your hope in God
"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is uncertain, but to put their hope in God." 1 Timothy 6:17a (NIV)
- Focus on what you have and not on what you don't have.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6 (NIV)
- Enjoy what you have
"(God), who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment." 1 Timothy
Action Plan: Carve out time this week to do an activity that brings you joy. Let God know how thankful you are for his goodness toward you.
- Invest in what lasts forever
"Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way, they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life." 1 Timothy 6:18-19 (NIV)
- Find your sufficiency in Christ
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
