    The Case For Christmas

    Lee Strobel | December 5, 2021

While Lee Strobel was still an atheist, he encountered a family one Christmas that showed him that even in the midst of poverty, knowing and having a relationship with Jesus is the best gift they could receive. In this message, Lee shares with us a Case for Christmas.

    Message Action Plan

"When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, 'Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.' So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger." Luke 2:15–16 (NIV)

ISSUE #1: DID JESUS CLAIM THAT HE IS GOD?

"I and the Father are one." Jesus in John 10:30 (NIV)

ISSUE #2: DID JESUS SHOW THAT HE IS GOD?

    •   HIS MIRACLES

"Don't believe me unless I do the works of my Father."  Jesus in John 10:37(NIV)

    •   HIS CHARACTER

"In him is no sin." 1 John 3:5 (NIV)

"He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth." 1 Peter 2:22 (NIV)

    •   HIS FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY

"Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." Jesus in Luke 24:44 (NIV)

    •   HIS RESURRECTION

"I say unequivocally that the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ is so overwhelming that it compels acceptance by proof which leaves absolutely no room for doubt." Sir Lionel Luckhoo

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." Jesus in John 10:10 (NIV)

"Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends." Revelation 3:20 (NLT)

ACTION PLAN: Write out bullet points of all the ways you know God truly cares for you. What experiences, memories, and realities of your life tell you that Jesus was who He said he was?

ACTION PLAN: Share the online link to this week's message, or have a watch party and invite your skeptic friends to watch and discuss with you.  Be sure to listen to their reasons for doubt without judgement.  Invite them to church.

    ACTION PLAN: Memorize Revelation 3:20
