      Instant Relationship Change

      Bil Cornelius | July 4, 2021

Do you ever wish you could jumpstart your relationships? Whether you’re single, dating, married, or have kids, everyone could use a spark in their relationships with others. In this message, guest speaker Bil Cornelius provides four principles from the Bible that will instantly start you on the road toward healthier relationships.

      Message Action Plan

      Talk It Over

      Message Action Plan

      1. Quit Being Lazy in Your Marriage. Pursue Your Spouse Today!

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.    Genesis 2:24 (NIV)

        I follow close behind you….
        Psalm 63:8 (TLB)

        They… pursued hard after them….
        Judges 20:45 (KJV)

So Jacob worked seven years to pay for Rachel. But his love for her was so strong that it seemed to him but a few days.
        Genesis 29:20 (NLT)

        ACTION PLAN:
Every day this week, practice the rule of "no kind thought goes unspoken". Whenever you have a positive thought about your spouse, significant other, or friend, tell them!

      2. Acton Your Good Intentions.

To get what you've never had, you must do what you've never done.
To get what you once had, you must do what you once did.

So remember where you were before you fell. Change your hearts and do what you did at first.
        Revelation 2:5 (NCV)

So if you know of an opportunity to do the right thing today, yet you refrain from doing it, you're guilty of sin. James 4:17 (TPT)

        ACTION PLAN:
Pick a day this week to review your spiritual growth. If you have become stagnant, compare your current reality with your behavior right after becoming a Christian. Were you more interested in the Bible? What did it mean to be with other Christians? Was prayer more of a delight than a burden? Without going backwards, consider re-taking CLASS 201, or going on a personal retreat to regain your joy with your relationship with Jesus.

      3. Make Attending Church A Priority, And This Will Improve Your Relationships.

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another….
        Hebrews 10:24-25a (NLT)

      4. Make Your Relational Highlights A Habit.

…Abishai son of Zeruiah… killed the Philistine…. After this, there was another battle against the Philistines at Gob…. Sibbecai… killed Saph, another descendant of the giants… Elhanan son of Jair from Bethlehem killed the brother of Goliath…. In another battle with the Philistines at Gath, they encountered a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot…. But when he defied and taunted Israel, he was killed by Jonathan, the son of David's brother Shimea. These four Philistines were descendants of the giants of Gath, but David and his warriors killed them.  2 Samuel 21:17-22 (NLT)

ACTION PLAN: If you haven't already done so, establish a monthly "date night" with your spouse or significant other. If single, let this be a planned monthly time of refreshment with a close friend. Whether an adventure or a fancy dinner, schedule it out in advance.
