The Truth About Trust:
+ Trust is the currency of life.
+ Trust is active surrender based on the reliability of God's goodness.
+ Trust is best tested through how I handle my treasures.
1. SEPARATEthe Source from the Stream.
+ Stream: WHAT IT'S COMING THROUGH
1 Kings 17:10b–14 (NLT)
+ Source: WHERE IT'S COMING FROM
1 Kings 17:15–16 (NLT)
ACTION PLAN: Sometime this week, spend time reflecting with God in prayer about where you have put your trust. Ask the Lord to tell you if your trust has been too focused on the Stream rather than the Source and ask Him to forgive you and refocus you on the One who provides rather than the provision He gives.
2. PAY ATTENTIONto the Source over the Stream.
ACTION PLAN: Remember that God continues to provide even when the Stream is running dry. In a journal this week, write a list of the many different ways that God has provided in your life. These can be from yesterday or years ago, big or small, and even financial/relational/spiritual etc. Don't force yourself to make a huge list, simply try to remember that God has provided in even the most difficult seasons.
3. PUT GOD FIRSTas the Source of everything.
When I Trust God With My Giving:
1. He will TAKE CARE OF MY NEEDS.
2. He will ABUNDANTLY BLESS ME.
Five Types of Givers:
