LIMITLESS GRACE
• GRACE IS KINDNESS AND FAVOR I COULD NEVER DESERVE.
"God's kindness leads you toward repentance." Romans 2:4 (NIV)
"When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy." Titus 3:4-5 (NIV)
"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly … God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:6-8 (NIV)
"Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'" 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 (NIV)
ACTION PLAN:Romans 5:6-8 says that the demonstration of God's love for us is that "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Think over the last 24 hours. If at any moment in those hours, you found yourself in need of God's mercy, remember that it's by His grace you have been saved. Thank Him for His gift of limitless grace.
• GRACE IS MY POWER SOURCE.
· Power to ENDURE whatever you're going through
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
· Power to RESIST temptation
"God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape." 1 Corinthians 10:13 (GW)
· Power to ACCOMPLISH the tasks ahead of you
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
· Power to INFLUENCE the world around you
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses … "Acts 1:8 (NIV)
• GRACE IS POWER I COULD NEVER GENERATE ON MY OWN.
LIMITLESS PEACE
• PEACE IS NOT ONLY THE ABSENCE OF CONFLICT.
PEACE IS ALSO THE PRESENCE OF BLESSING.
· ORDER—"For God is not a God of disorder but of peace." 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NIV)
· FULLNESS—"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."Romans 15:13 (NIV)
· COMPLETENESS—"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion." Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
· PROSPERITY—"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19 (NIV)
· TRANQUILITY—"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
· HEALTH & WELL-BEING in your spirit, soul, and body—"I pray that God, who gives peace, will make you completely holy. And may your spirit, soul, and body be kept healthy and faultless until our Lord Jesus Christ returns." 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (CEV)
"And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end." Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." Luke 2:14 (NIV)
ACTION PLAN: Write down each of the titles of God listed in Isaiah 9:6-7. Next to each title, list two ways that He has been those things to you.
• WHEN THE GRACE OF GOD RESTS ON YOU,
THE PEACE OF GOD RULES IN YOU.
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts." Colossians 3:15 (NIV)
• THE EXTENT OF HIS RULERSHIP IN MY HEART IS UP TO ME.
"I will listen to God the Lord. He has ordered peace for those who worship him."Psalm 85:8 (NCV)
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27 (NIV)
ACTION PLAN: Next week, before you go to church, challenge yourself to arrive early. When you arrive, sit quietly, and ask God to fill you with His peace. Remember that it's a choice you are making to allow that peace to rule in your heart (Colossians 3:15). Make another choice to worship Him by singing praises.
