Every dream eventually encounters difficulty.
Turning Obstacles Into Opportunities:
- Expect difficulty on the path to the dream.
- In the creation.
- In the continuation.
- At the completion.
- No resistance means I"m going nowhere.
ACTION PLAN: Everyone faces difficulties in the middle of their dreams. When left unnamed and vague, these difficulties can seem much greater than they really are. Take time to journal about each of the difficulties you face, trying to trace to the root of the problem and why it stands in your way.
- Pray through the lies in difficulty.
- Lies of Doubt.
- Lies of Discouragement.
- Lies of Distraction.
ACTION PLAN: The enemy works to make us forget our identity as God"s children. Rather than confront this doubt and discouragement on your own strength, practice a few minutes of breathing prayer. Sit still and take a deep breath, reciting God"s words over Jesus in Mark 1:11. With each inhale, say to yourself "You are my beloved son/daughter" and with each exhale say "with you I am well pleased," knowing that God is speaking the same words over you.
- Leverage the difficulty for perseverance.
When it"s hard you can: quit, complain, or keep going.
ACTION PLAN: Begin each day writing in a journal the ways that you"re expecting to see God move and do good things that day. This will put you in a posture of expectation rather than deflation. Then, at the end of each day, give God thanks for the ways He showed up, whether they went with your expectations or completely blew them away.
