Six Phases of Dreaming:
- Dream.
- Decide.
- Delay.
- Difficulties.
- Dead Ends.
- Deliverance.
How Do I Discover God's Dream for My Life?
- Start with curiosity.
Curiosity means I ask the right questions.
ACTION PLAN: Take a walk without your cell phone or go for a drive around your neighborhood. Keep your eyes on the horizon and talk to God about what you see. Ask him for his eyes to see the people around you. Do you see neighbors that you haven't reached out to because they are not like you? Look beyond the obvious and ask God to reveal problems where he might be able to use you. Is there a need you can provide? Is there food you can give to the hungry, friendship you can give to the lonely? Confess how you've kept your eyes closed to the needs around you and look for ways to serve the people around you. - Pay attention to concern.
Concern means I listen to what God is saying. - Develop my convictions.
Conviction means I allow my heart to be broken. - Act on calling!
Calling means I go after God's dreams.
ACTION PLAN: Tonight, before you go to bed, ask the Lord to show you what is on his radar for your personal life and relationships, your career, and your ministry. Pray something like this: "Father, give me fresh vision. Break my heart with the things that break yours and give me your dreams and your heart." Give time for his dreams to take form and after a few days, go for a walk to talk with him about what has been developing in your heart. Ask him to increase your vision and faith and make you obedient to act on this new dream.
