WHY & HOW

• BECAUSE OF WHO GOD IS
  
  "The Lord is great. He is worthy of our praise. No one can understand
   how great he is." Psalm 145:3(ICB)
  
  "Give thanks to God as you remember how holy he is."   Psalm 97:12b(GW)
  
  "Give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love."  Psalm 107:8a(NIV)
  
  "I will thank the Lord because he is just." Psalm 7:17a(NLT)
  
  "I will thank the Lord, because he is good."  Psalm 54:6
  
  "Tell the Lord how thankful you are, because he is kind and always merciful." Psalm 118:1(CEV)

HOW CAN I SHOW MY THANKS?

• BY SINGING FROM THE HEART
  
  "Sing out your thanks to him; sing praises to our God . . ."   Psalm 147:7(LB)

• BY THANKING GOD IN PRAYER
  
  "Give thanks to the Lord and pray to him." Psalm 105:1a (NCV)

ACTION PLAN:  
This week start your daily quiet time with a few minutes of praising God for who He is.  Praise him for his greatness, his holiness, his unfailing love, his goodness, his kindness, his mercy and his justice.

• BECAUSE OF WHAT GOD HAS DONE

HOW CAN I SHOW MY THANKS?

• BY TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS

• By GIVING AN OFFERING BACK TO GOD
  
  "Give an offering to show your thanks to God. Give him what you promised."   Psalm 50:14(NCV)
  
  "Celebrate the Harvest Festival, to honor the Lord your God, by bringing him a freewill offering in proportion to the blessing He has given you." Deuteronomy 16:10 (TEV)

ACTION PLAN: 
Commit to inviting at least one person to a Christmas service.  Write down their name and pray for them daily.

HOW CAN I SHOW MY THANKS?

• By SERVING HIM WITH THE ABILITIES HE GAVE ME

• BY LIVING EACH DAY AS A THANK YOU GIFT
  
  "Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the
   Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God . . ." Colossians 3:17(NIV)
  
  "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in
  Christ Jesus!"  1 Thessalonians 5:18(NIV)
  
  "Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done."  Colossians 2:7(LB)

ACTION PLAN:  Show your family and friends how much you love them by serving them this week. Choose someone each day and then find a way to serve them selflessly.
