    Is it accurate?

Textual criticism: The technique of restoring texts as nearly as possible to their original form. (Britannica.com)

3 Evidences of Historical Accuracy of the New Testament:

    1. Relatively small time gap between original work and later copies
    2. Vast number of early manuscripts
    3. Dead Sea Scrolls comparison to modern translations

ACTION PLAN: if you're struggling to understand what the Bible is and how to approach reading it, give this video a watch. When you're done, go for a walk and reflect with God about what you've just heard about his Word.

    Is it true?

Historically Accurate + Theologically True = Trusted

ACTION PLAN: In a journal, write down some of the questions that you may have about the Bible. These can be questions about how we know if events from the Bible really happened to what these events represent or mean. As you ponder these questions, pray for the Lord to strengthen your faith and help you explore these questions.

    Is it worth it?

The Bible does not always answer our specific questions, but it forms a wise person.

ACTION PLAN: To prepare for our church-wide daily reading of Scripture, read a chapter of Psalms each day. Before you read, invite the Lord to reveal more do His truth to you and help you feel comfortable with this practice.
