The tongue has the power of life and death. Proverbs 18:21a (NIV)
4 INVITATIONS FROM GOD:
1. KNOW YOUR SIGNIFICANCE
"You are the salt of the earth." Matthew 5:13 (NLT)
"You are the light of the world — like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14 (NLT)
We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)
ACTION PLAN: We can tend to make ourselves smaller and less capable of being used by God in our own minds by saying that we aren't good enough. Sometime this week, make a list of the gifts and strengths that the Lord has given you and let him remind you that you are more than capable in his hands.
2. SHOW HIS COMPASSION
"You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate." Luke 6:36 (NLT)
3. GROW YOUR GRATITUDE
I'm speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me. Romans 12:3 (MSG)
ACTION PLAN: If you haven't yet, start a gratitude journal! At the end of each day before bed, write down at least one thing that you are grateful for and take a minute to thank God in prayer. Even if your day wasn't the best, ask yourself how you saw God that day, big or small.
4. GO INTO ALL THE WORLD
- Go Broad
- Go Personal
- Go Next Door
- Go Deep
"Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone." Mark 16:15 (NLT)
How can people have faith in the Lord and ask him to save them, if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear, unless someone tells them? Romans 10:14 (CEV)
ACTION PLAN: Take some time today to pray. Ask God to reveal to you who He wants you to invite into a relationship with him. Pray for wisdom and a right opportunity to invite whoever he puts on your heart. Remember that God may bring to mind someone unexpected. While these invitations may feel awkward, they may also lead to that person's healing and transformation.
