What if prayer became my first response instead of my last resort?
Praying for a Breakthrough:
- Personal breakthrough.
- Relational breakthrough.
- Missional breakthrough.
- Prayer is a direct line to God.
- Prayer involves reverence and relationship.
- Prayer helps me experience God's plans and purposes for my life.
"God does things when we pray that he doesn't when we don't."
- Search me.
ACTION PLAN: When is the next time you have 15 minutes open to listen and pray? Maybe it is the daily commute, or while washing dishes, or in the morning as you're getting ready. Try out this Prayer of Examen exercise through The Well podcast. Simply hit play and you will be guided through an ancient prayer of "search me", rooted in Psalm 139.
- Show me.
ACTION PLAN: Galatians 5:22-23 contains a list of the fruit of the Spirit, which are nine attributes of someone living in accordance with the Holy Spirit. Memorize these verses and use the fruit listed as a checklist in asking the Lord to show you of where you are in need correction in your actions toward everyone you in your life.
- Rescue me.
- My relationship with God is the most important part of my life.
- Any barrier to my relationship with God is a big deal.
- Restore me.
