    The Courage to Slow Down

    Stacie Wood | October 9, 2022

We live in a culture that is constantly wanting to speed up or go faster. Sometimes, we need courage to slow down. This week, Pastor Stacie Wood looks at three principles that can help us slow down and notice God's faithfulness in our lives and three spiritual practices that go hand in hand with those principles.

How the Practice of Slowing Down Builds Courage:

    2. Push back what's pressing
    Spiritual Practice: Sabbath

ACTION PLAN: Set aside one day this week to practice Sabbath.

    • Don't know where to start? Look at your week. Choose a day that you can set aside your work. Plan out one or two refreshing activities with God that day that will set the tone. To take it to the next level, consider turning off your phone all day and see what happens.
    • Need a taste of Sabbath right now? Set aside 15 minutes today to let God refresh you in His love. Go on a walk or find a quiet place, put in some headphones, and listen to "His Burden is Light" from Saddleback's The Well Podcast.

    3. Personalize God's Promises
    Spiritual Practice: Gratitude Journal
