Hallmarks of Authentic Love
Authentic love is active.
Authentic love is willing to be interrupted.
ACTION PLAN: How interruptible are you? Jesus says the ultimate expression of love in life is to love your neighbor as yourself. Who can you make time for this week? Who in your family? Who at your work? Who in your neighborhood? Pray for opportunities and a sharp listening ear for needs of others around you this week.
Authentic love is willing to tell AND hear the truth.
The love of God is most profoundly experienced when it's shared in an authentic way.
ACTION PLAN: Who has demonstrated love to you in the past? What did they do? If you can, thank them by dropping them a note or a text and telling them what it meant to you.
Anchoring love comes with an !, not a ?.
ACTION PLAN: Saddleback has engaged our community to read the entire New Testament. It began January 22nd and will continue through March 16th. We are using Immerse, The Reading Bible® to read "Messiah", a unique Bible whose format doesn't include chapter, verse, and other headings, to create a reading experience more like the original readers would have read it. If you haven't signed up for The Anchored Life challenge yet, learn more and sign uphere. The reading assignment for week eight is pages 424 - 482.
