Jesus opened the door to the Father:
- By what he taught.
- By how he lived.
- By how he died.
Encountering the Father's Heart:
- Investtime with the Father.
ACTION PLAN: Intentionally carve out time either in the morning or at night to spend time with the Father. While Bible study is a great practice, use this time specifically for out-loud prayer to God or worship through song. The goal is not to learn more about God, but to begin a conversation between your soul and God.
- Listento the Father's Voice
The Father Speaks:
- Individually with his kids.
- Affirms with love.
- Corrects with care.
ACTION PLAN: Take a five-minute break each day to create a time of silence. During this time, go to a quiet, solitary space where you can sit or walk peacefully. Take a deep breath and say "Father, please speak to me," and spend the next few minutes in quiet, listening for the Father's voice.
- Receivethe Father's Help.
ACTION PLAN: In a journal, write out a list of the areas of your life where you feel like you need God's help the most. These can be places where you feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or even like you just need the extra support. When you finish the list, write out a prayer to God for each area, inviting Him to help in specific ways, not just generally.
- Surrenderto the Father's Will.
Every unmet need and unfulfilled expectation of your earthly dad can find full redemption in your Heavenly Father.
