Message Notes:
Three Types of Fear
- Immediate DANGER.
- Impending BATTLES.
- Imaginary PROBLEMS.
ACTION PLAN: In a journal, make 3 lists named after the different types of fear. Take whatever anxieties that you have been holding onto and place each of them into one of the three categories. Naming your fears in this way will help give you insight and clarity on how to handle next steps. After placing each fear in a different category, spend time in prayer with God, asking for His guidance and peace as you navigate each fear with Him.
Facing Fear with Courage
- KNOW God's WORD. (Joshua 1:6-7)
-
- This helps me PICK MY BATTLES.
ACTION PLAN: Take the time and effort this week to get to know God's word. In the back of your Bible should be a concordance, a space to find specific words and where they are used throughout Scripture. Look up the word "PEACE" and spend some time everyday reading through different stories and encouragements about God's peace.
- OBEY God's WORD. (Joshua 1:7)
-
- This helps me KEEP MY FEET MOVING.
- This helps me KEEP MY FEET MOVING.
- SPEAK God's WORD. (Joshua 1:8-9)
-
- This helps me RENEW MY MIND.
ACTION PLAN: After you've spent time seeking out peace through God's word in the concordance, write down 3-5 verses that the Holy Spirit highlighted to you. Put them on a notecard and place it somewhere you will see everyday, make one of them your phone's lock screen, or even set a reminder on your phone to show you that verse at throughout the day! Find a way to continually focus your mind back to those verses in moments where you need peace.
