"So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up." Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
1. THIS IS JUST ASEASON.
EVERY SEASON COMES WITHGIFTS,GRIND, ANDGRIEF.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials." 1 Peter 1:3–6 (NIV)
IT MAY FEELPERVASIVE, BUT IT'S NEVER PERMANENT.
"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever. So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4:16–18 (NLT)
ACTION PLAN: Have lunch/video chat with a trusted friend and ask them for their perspective on the grind you may be in now. How do they see things differently? Are their hidden blessings in what you're going through? Think about what is blocking you from more easily seeing them.
2. EVERY SEASONMATTERS.
"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing." James 1:2–4 (NLT)
"We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work." John 9:4 (ESV)
THERE IS AWINDOWFOR ALLWORK.
- INTERNALWORK.
- EXTERNALWORK.
ACTION PLAN: List out the big work you must accomplish before this year ends. Beyond the initial benefactors of such efforts, who can God bless through you by doing this work? What daily tasks can you approach differently for God to work through you? Incorporate one good idea that comes to you this week. Make it a weekly habit at work.
3. THERE IS A HARVESTAHEAD.
"So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up." Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
"God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." James 1:12 (NLT)
THE PAIN OF REGRET IS FARGREATER
THAN THE PAIN OFPERSEVERANCE.
"I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong." Ephesians 3:16–17 (NLT)
